Derek Bardowell is a writer, philanthropy advisor and executive coach. His first book, the sports memoir No Win Race, was a Sunday Times and Financial Times Book of the Year in 2019. Derek’s latest book, Giving Back, reimagines philanthropy through a reparative lens. He is co-CEO of Ten Years’ Time and Chair of The Tudor Trust. He also helped to establish the Church Commissioners for England’s £100m Fund for Healing, Repair and Justice. Before that, Derek led portfolios for the National Lottery Community Fund and Laureus Sport for Good, among others, distributing £150m to critical causes in 34 countries. A former trustee of Thirty Percy and Mission 44, Derek is a Churchill Fellow, a Knowledge Equity Fellow (University of Oxford) and a Spear’s 500 Recommended Philanthropy Advisor.
