Advocacy and Research
‘How Funders Can Act’ is a series of research reports that explore areas of gross under-investment and the need for change within philanthropy.
Our reports enable trusts, foundations and wealth holders to build their knowledge within these issue areas and provide recommendations for action.
Please note that this area of our website is under construction and some of our earlier reports will be added soon.

NEW – Moving Towards Reparative Justice
Commissioned by Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Foundation, the report helps funders move from acknowledging links to African chattel enslavement to taking meaningful, justice-driven action. It offers a seven-stage framework, real-world examples, and practical recommendations to guide foundations in shifting power, redistributing wealth, and centring repair over returns.

Racial Justice and Social Transformation
This report focuses equally on both support that first-time trustees from diverse backgrounds often require, alongside changes that trusts, foundations and charities need to make in order to develop culturally more inclusive board environments.
