Community of Practice

The Ten Years’ Time Community of Practice is a holistic programme of support and development for trusts, foundations and charities on their journey towards racial justice.

The programme has been designed in response to insights from clients wanting to embed equitable practices, anti-racism and racial and economic justice.

Through our values of imagination, revolutionary love, joy, humility and radical honesty, the programme supports you in embedding racial justice practices and anti-oppressive frameworks into governance, leadership, investments and grant making.

The programme has been created to complement your current DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) initiatives by providing tailored support through your accountability framework, allowing you to measure progress and put your learning into practice.

We provide a dedicated learning platform you can access at your own pace, allowing you to build your learning around your current commitments and engage in modules, resources and one-to-one and group support at times convenient to you.

We also offer coaching and facilitate wellbeing spaces for Black and racially minoritised colleagues.

You are supported by a dedicated Account Manager and space to connect with a community of peers embarking on a similar journey. To join our Community of Practice, please get in touch.

We recognise that addressing racism and oppression is not a static act but an ongoing journey of learning, questioning, and accountability. We joined Ten Years Time recognising the value of external expertise and action alongside other foundations. Through this initiative, we have gained new connections with allies, as well as fresh insights and practical steps to strengthen our approach.
Matthew Smerdon, CEO, LEF
The most important aspect of joining Ten Years’ Time’s Community of Practice for racial justice has been connecting with a group of like-minded people who also believe that we can move beyond a place of racial conflict to a place of racial harmony, if together we do the work. Being a part of such a community – for me and for our team – is beyond invaluable for the world we want to create for ourselves and for future generations.
Heather Salmon, Director of Wellbeing, Impatience Earth
As a predominantly white organisation with plans to fund more racial justice work – ensuring we don’t place expectations/burdens on POC staff and partners but ensure that we are equipping all staff with the tools to challenge racism and oppression.
